Hello, I’m Marissa 👋🏼

I’m the owner of MKM Beauty, and I’ve been working professionally in the beauty industry since 2013. After a successful career in salons and spas, I launched MKM Beauty in 2022 to create a more personalised, client-focused experience.

I specialise in prescriptive manicures, tailoring each treatment to your individual nails, lifestyle and goals. My focus is on choosing the right nail system for you while prioritising the health, strength and longevity of your natural nails - whether that’s gel, builder or hard gel, acrylic or detailed nail art.

I also offer detailed dry pedicures and tailored brow treatments and lash lifts, designed to enhance your natural features.

I’m a perfectionist when it comes to my work and continually invest in further education to develop my skills and stay up to date with the latest techniques and developments within the industry. For me, it’s about creating beautiful, long-lasting results without compromising the condition of your natural nails. 🖤

Outside the salon, I’m usually spending time with my partner and our dog, Reggie. And of course, a good salon chat is always part of the experience (dog mum chats are very welcome! 🐾)

  • Since 2014, I have gained extensive experience in the beauty industry, working in three local salons and two spas. In 2022, I began my self-employed journey as a mobile beauty therapist, later transitioning to working from home. I am now proud to be based at Awaken Face and Body Care, where I rent a chair and continue to offer high-quality, personalised treatments to my clients. With all my experience I still love to enroll in new training and keep my knowledge up to date with the latest trends and techniques!

Nail ConsultationIf you are a new client unsure of your nail possibilities and want some guidance on which system would meet your specific needs please book this option to pop in for a chat and inspection on your current nails. Nail biters, damaged nails from previous enhancements and nervous clients this option is to welcome you and to put you at ease so we can get a plan together for you and your nails. (No charge)

My builder gel sets are completely personalised to your nail needs all the way down to the primer and base coat. Upon consultation I will determine which builder is best to suit you. Infills are needed every 3-4 weeks. Please note, infills are only for clients whose nails were originally done by MKM Beauty. If you require a nail fix, French tips or nail art remember to book that as an add-on service as well.

My builder gel sets are completely personalised to your nail needs all the way down to the primer and base coat. Upon consultation I will determine which builder is best to suit you Please note, infills are only for clients whose nails were originally done by MKM Beauty. Gel Xtensions (Fresh Set) Full cover, strong & durable nail Xtensions available in short & long almond, coffin, round & square shapes. Perfect for all nail types however if you have extremely bitten nails please book a nail consultation before booking so we can discuss what system would work best for you. Full detailed cuticle work included. Gel Xtensions are perfect for a one off treat for a holiday or if you are wanting to switch from acrylic as they have slightly more flexibility and can be grown out with builder gel if wanting to grow your natural nails without the wait for your dream nail length. Plain gel colour included please select relevant art tier if you require any design work.

Sculpted Acrylic ExtensionsExperience beautifully sculpted acrylic nails (no tips or glue for ultimate strength & custom shape!) with meticulous cuticle care and your choice of gel colour. Acrylic is the strongest nail enhancement I offer so if you are very heavy handed with your nails or have oily nail beds this could be the perfect solution for you. Please note this service is available exclusively for acrylic nails previously applied by MKM Beauty and does not cover infills on work done by other technicians. Finished with a gel polish of your choice. Infills must be 3-4 weeks between appointments please book a nail fix add on for infills longer than this timeframe as a rebalance may be needed.

IBX Rehab Manicure An IBX manicure is a first of its kind professional nail repair and strengthening treatment that works inside the natural nail, not on top like standard nail hardeners. It penetrates the nail plate to fuse weak keratin layers together, helping repair damage like peeling and splitting while building strength from within. The service includes nail filing and shaping, cuticle work, IBX repair & strengthen application plus a finishing touch of hand cream and cuticle oil for added nourishment. It is recommended to have this repeated every 1-3 weeks depending on your nail condition, advice on regularity needed will be suggested by me after your first IBX manicure. If you would like a gel colour with this service please book a gel manicure instead and choose IBX as an add on from the add ons section.
